You are helping to shape our little community!

Thank you so much for your generous gift of $300 for our PBIS program (Positive Behavior Incentive System). Patrick Elementary School is a small school in Southern Oregon with a 78% free and reduced lunch rate. Our students are hard workers, bright, and talented, but often suffer from lack of materials at home to support their studies, and deserve recognition for their progress and effort. Our hope and goal is to encourage our students to continue to do their best (even when no one is looking), and to strive to continue learning and attend college, or trade school, after high school. We want to do our part to create a community of thoughtful and educated people. Your donation helped to purchase books for a “Panther Paw” drawing (Panther Paws are small notes given to students to recognize their efforts to be respectful, responsible and safe). And to help purchase recognition charms for each teacher’s students of the month (students who have gone the extra distance and exemplify what we want our Patrick Panthers to be known for).

Attached is a picture of our students of the month for November, and a presentation given by our fourth and fifth graders about the 50 states and the privilege of being an American.

Thank you again for all your kindness! You are helping to shape our little community!

It is my pleasure to thank H.E.L.P. for their generous donation to Molalla River Middle School. Your donation helped us purchase “Be the One” t-shirts for every one of our students. “Be the One” is our community wide program of Acceptance, Respect, and Responsibility. Attached is a picture of our students with their shirts. The gentleman on the left is Andy Anderson, owner of Figaro’s Pizza who brought us our check for $250. The Couple to the right of the picture in the orange “Be the One” t-shirts are Susan and Charlie Williams of H.I. Screen graphics who provided us with the shirts at cost. Andy and Susan and Charlie are three of the generous local businessmen who make a difference for our community.

SUBJECT: Thank You from La Pine Parks & Recreation

La Pine Park & Recreation District would like to thank H.E.L.P. for your wonderful support of our after school program, “The Hub”. We serve over one hundred and twenty students on a daily basis. This all takes place in a safe environment where they find healthy snacks, homework help and lots of fun! The dollars you contributed will go directly toward helping those children who could otherwise not afford to participate. We are very proud of our program and community, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Without support from organizations like H.E.L.P., we would not be able to serve as many children as we do!
Thanks again.

Director
La Pine Parks & Recreation District

H.E.L.P., the Charity Awards Grants

H.E.L.P., the Charity announced that for its latest grant period, which ended October 15th, 2013, it issued 50 awards of grants totaling $15,280.20.

This brings the total awards of grants since H.E.L.P., the Charity began in October, 2010, to 275 awards of grants totaling $55,721.12.

Through its grant program, H.E.L.P. provides grants to U.S. based non-profit tax exempt schools and other entities to support educational programs. H.E.L.P. was born out of the desire of the shareholders and franchisees of Figaro’s Italian Pizza, to make a positive, long lasting impact on the communities we serve. The worldwide recession caused many local, state and federal governments to drastically cut the budgets at schools, with potentially devastating results. If our children are unable to receive a quality education, they could fall behind children in other countries, potentially weakening our nation’s competitiveness. It was this need that drove Figaro’s Pizza and its franchise owners to conceive of H.E.L.P., the Charity. H.E.L.P., is ‘Helping Education with Love and Pizza’. H.E.L.P. was launched in late 2010 and began raising funds that October. H.E.L.P. is now also graciously supported by all Pizza Schmizza and Schmizza Pub & Grub restaurants, Nick-N-Willy’s in Grand Junction, Colorado, and All-Mine Yogurt in Molalla, Oregon.

The charity has since applied for and obtained 501 (c) 3 status from the Internal Revenue Service.
