Thank you so much for your generous donation.  Because of your support, our 7th graders were able to participate in The HERO Challenge, a day-long experiential field trip designed to eliminate bullying and harassment.  Over the course of the day, our students work in groups both large and small to build skills in communication, empathy, introspection, and assertiveness.  And we also build our courage through participation in the Oregon State Challenge Course, a high-ropes experience.  Our students face their fears and learn that they are way stronger than they thought they could be.  By climbing up ladders and telephone poles and walking across wires 30 feet in the air, our students return to school stronger and more confident.  When people feel good about themselves, they are very unlikely to put others down.  And when people feel courageous, they are very likely to stand up and protect others.  As we say at The HERO Challenge….Don’t stand by.  Stand up.  Be a HERO.
